I am looking forward to secure the jewellery and other important documents into a locker.

Can someone give me pointers on which are the best lockers available?

Also, I want information from a security point of view.

Which are more preferable private banks like ICICI, HDFC or Govt. banks like SBI, BOB,etc.

A detailed post be Manish Chauhan will also be helpful.

@Ashish: Yes getting a locker is a very difficult.. I am following up with my bank since one year but they keep saying there is a very long waiting list and now they are not even ready to put my name into the list as well 🙁

  2. Hi Rajan

I hope you read my post –

Note that in my personal opinion, you should get locker in a PSU bank which is between a market and crowded place, ideally surrounded by other offices and shops .

What potential probelms could occur with locker facilty of private banks?

    Dear Rajan,

As far as I know, bank does not take any responsibility of the items, secured in a locker. The lockers are though much more secure than keeping valuable items at home.

You can go ahead with any of the nationalised bank (for their better security measures). But the question here is are you lucky enough to get a locker at your preferred bank / branch.

I have been searching for a locker with banks nearby my residence and unfortunately none of them has a vacant locker and there is a long waiting list. I have been asked to invest in some of their useless insurance / ULIPs to get a locker and that too for a minimum annual investment of 50,000 or above.
