I have been investing in an equity fund past one year through SIP. Now I wish to redeem it as the first investment(SIP) completes one year in august and overall the fund has given me my desired return. So my question is will i have to pay STCG if I redeem all of the units which has acquired over the period of SIP?
Do i have to redeem the investment month by month to get the tax exempt?

yes. you have to redeem month by month. Each SIP transaction date is considered as the start of the investment..
