Tata AIG Home Insurance Policy Does not include my Assets List declared

POSTED BY vksnathan ON September 20, 2013 10:04 am COMMENTS (2)

Dear Experts,

I have recently taken a Home secure policy ( Home Insurance ) from Tata AIG.The Representative from Tata AIG asked me for a asset list before the initiation of policy.I send the asset list to the representative thru E-mail.Tata AIG issued the policy after my cheque payment for the premium amount was cleared and I received the paper policy document after 3 weeks.

However I found that the policy schedule did not include all the contents in my asset list.So I contacted the representative thru E-Mail and got a reply that

\’This is with regards to the home policy bearing the number xxxxxx.
The contents listing provided by you remains incorporated in the policy xxxxx and it\’s difficult to mention all the contents in the policy schedule.\’

Please note that all the above communication was thru E-Mail.

Please let me know if this is correct ?. In case of a Claim denial in the future, can I use the e-mail communication as a proof ?.

Thanks And Regards,

Senthil nathan

    Hi Ashal,

The Entire communication with the Tata Aig Representative is from tata-aig.com domain.I have saved the entire communication e-mail chain in my G-Mail Archive and I have an E-mail from the Tata Aig Personnel Development Manager as given in original message.

I just wanted to check with fellow investors if it is a mandatory requirement that all the contents of asset listing should be mentioned in the policy schedule for Home insurance claim approval.

Dear Senthil, ask the company to provide you a mail as a proof that all the contents listed by you are part of the policy.
